As well as his ‘Cantique de Jean Racine’, and other compositions from the late 19th century French choral library, including Duruflé’s ‘Quatre Motets’.
The music of Fauré’s Requiem is peaceful, serene, elevating and comforting. The ‘In Paradisum‘ is so recognizable as to identify this entire work as soundly as the ‘Hallelujah Chorus’ identifies Handel’s ‘Messiah‘
